Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP)

Updated: Apr 27, 2022

Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a relatively common viral disease of cats. It is caused by feline corona virus. This is not by the same corona virus causing COVID-19 in humans.

FIP causes young, pedigree cats to suddenly get ill and die. FIP has been a fatal disease for decades in cats and it is still a fatal disease if not treated. Now, for the first time, we are starting to see cats survive this horrendous disease. At last we have a promising treatment for FIP!

Find out more about the symptoms of FIP and the treatment of FIP in this video. I will also tell you why cats with FIP are still dying despite this promising treatment.
